“The School of Education has been fortunate to have Dan Jacobsohn as our first CIO,” says School of Education Dean Julie Underwood. “He has helped us integrate our information and improved our use of technology. We are sorry to see him leaving the School, but wish him the best in his new adventure.”
In addition to his role as CIO, Jacobsohn also serves as director of MERIT within the School of Education.
Starting in mid-August, Anna Lewis and Brenda Spychalla will serve as interim co-directors of MERIT and will act as co-CIO for the School. Lewis is MERIT’s assistant director of library services, while Spychalla is assistant director of IT services.
The School of Education will start a national search for a new CIO in the coming months, after Diana Hess takes over for Julie Underwood as the School’s next dean on Aug. 1.
Jacobsohn is opening a business in Madison that sells new and used Lego products.
