MERIT Celebrates National Library Week!

National Library Week is a fun time of year to celebrate libraries and all they do, share, and provide. This year’s American Library Association theme is: “There’s More to the Story.”

MERIT will be celebrating all week long on our social media accounts and in our space on the 3rd floor of the Teacher Education building. This will include: Highlights of our unique circulating collections, resource display for “Right to Read Day,” opportunities to create a personalized READ poster, interactive board to share what you love about our library, and de-stressing activities like coloring, fidget giveaways… plus a visit from Dogs on Call on Friday afternoon.

(All week long) Star in Your Own READ Poster!

  • WHO? You or a group of you and your friends/family/co-workers!
  • WHAT? Bring a copy of your favorite book(s) to MERIT Library and pose for your very own personalized READ! Poster.  Posters will be 11”x17” and will cost $5.00 each ($1.00 for additional prints). Wiscard/Print Card payments only.
  • WHEN? Monday, April 24-Thursday, April 27, 12:00 PM-7:00 PM; Friday, April 28, 12:00-4:00 PM
  • WHERE? 3rd floor Teacher Education Building (MERIT Library)
  • WHY? Because it’s so much fun (and celebrates reading)!!

(All week long) Add to our interactive whiteboard. “MERIT loves our community!”  Share what you love about MERIT on one of our display boards near the Service Desk.  We will have Post-Its and markers available to leave a note.

Monday, April 24: Right to Read Day!  Checkout a display in our library space to learn more about the freedom to read (and general fight against censorship and banned books).
