Available Rooms at MERIT
MERIT has 3 rooms available for reservation within our spaces at the Teacher Education building (TEB). This includes 2 active learning classrooms and a small A/V studio space. Our conference room is temporarily unavailable for reservations this fall (but open to walk-ins when not otherwise in-use). Review each room below for details on space specs, including: setup & capacity, technology, and general policies.

TEB Room 122 (A/V small studio)
Located on the 1st floor of TEB; requires key access (key can be picked-up at the service desk within the MERIT library).
Room specs: 4 person capacity
Room technology: Multi-channel audio recording (onto user-provided laptop computer, SD card, or USB drive). Video recording (onto user-provided SD card). Webinar hosting capability, with Zoom or Teams, teleprompter, video lighting, and green screen (Chroma Key) backdrop available.
Room policies: Prefer no food or drink in the space; closeable water bottles are OK. A brief training session is required prior to using the studio for the first time.
TEB Room 302 (Conference space)
Note: Room is UNAVAILABLE for external reservations Fall 2025.
Located within the 3rd floor lobby next to the elevators. Room is unlocked for use when library is open; locked when library is closed.
Room specs: 10 person capacity around table, extra movable chairs along walls. Video conferencing technology (camera, 2 tabletop speakers). White board with dry erase markers.
Room technology: A/V system includes: TV with remote, VGA and HDMI inputs, external keyboard and mouse. Video conferencing: camera positioned below TV, 2 tabletop speakers.
Room policies: Reservations are honored, but room is available for walk-ins, if not reserved.
TEB Room 336 (Active learning classroom)
Located within the MERIT library commons space; no key access needed.
Room specs: 40 person capacity with 1 instructor station. This is an “active learning” space with movable tables and chairs. Portable markerboards and hanging rails are installed around the room.
Room technology: A/V system includes: instructor station, SmartBoard interactive whiteboard with projector and speakers, Dell computer (Windows OS), ELMO TT-02s document camera, laptop input with VGA, audio, and USB, and a DVD/VHS player.
Room policies: Primarily used for School of Education (SoE) classes; scheduled well in advance of the up-coming academic semester. This space can be used for meetings and special events, depending on availability (preference given to SoE-affiliated groups).
TEB Room 350 (Active learning classroom)
Located within the MERIT library commons space; MERIT staff will open space at start of each day.
Room specs: 100 person capacity. Mobile tables and chairs, multiple accessible desks for wheelchair users, assistive hearing system and devices, whiteboards mounted on the wall, and an accessible sink. Space can be divided into 2 sections (70/30 split).
Room technology: Large displays on each wall, speakers & microphones available (both handheld or lavalier mics), assistive hearing system and devices, mobile power stations, and motorized shades (in case you like your classrooms dark). Training for A/V technology in the room available with our AV/IT staff, upon request.
Room policies: You can eat and drink in the room. Private storage cabinets available for semester-use (request required). Primarily used for School of Education (SoE) classes; scheduled well in advance of the up-coming academic semester. This space can be used for meetings and special events, depending on availability (preference given to SoE-affiliated groups).
How to Request a Room
A/V Small Studio (122):
To reserve MERIT’s A/V small studio, complete form linked below and MERIT staff will review and coordinate. This room requires a walk-through tutorial for first-time use (scheduled in advance). Please expect a 1-2 day response time for all requests. For questions, contact David Marcou (MERIT’s Multimedia Designer).

To request a room reservation for an event or meeting, complete form linked below and MERIT staff will review and coordinate. Preference will be given to SoE-affiliated groups.
