Classrooms and Labs

In support of the University’s academic mission, MERIT provides technology expertise, resources, and services directly to students and faculty, and to other organizations that in turn support aspects of the mission.

MERIT provides information on the use of technology in teaching and learning environments and operates and manages classrooms, and public and multimedia computer clusters in MERIT Library.

This is an accordion element with a series of buttons that open and close related content panels.

Facilities

Macintosh and PC instructional computer labs, active learning space, and meeting spaces are managed by MERIT.

122 Podcast and Video Studio
Multimedia room with three microphones and three headsets. Audio and video equipment are provided.

336 Active Learning Space
“Active learning” space with movable tables and chairs for up to 45 people. Portable markerboards and hanging rails are installed around the room.

346 Mac Lab
Instructional computer lab with 1 instructor and 22 student workstations.  Computers are Apple 27″ iMacs with OSX 10.10.2 (Yosemite). Seating capacity: 23.

After-Hours Facility Usage
MERIT facilitates one-time, after-hours facility usage.

A/V Technology

MERIT offers consultation on A/V technology purchases and installation within your department or unit. MERIT provides A/V support for technology infused School of Education classrooms and meeting spaces.

A/V Technology Installation
MERIT will install A/V equipment in School of Education campus locations at the request of the department or unit.

A/V Technology Support
MERIT works to ensure that all A/V equipment installed in School of Education spaces works correctly. Troubleshooting resources are supplied in the A/V classrooms.

A/V Technology Purchasing Consultation
MERIT will consult with you on your A/V needs and offer recommendations to best meet those needs. We can provide you with a range of recommendations, if requested.

Digital Signage Installation
MERIT can help you coordinate the installation of digital signage in School of Education managed spaces.

Digital Signage Purchasing Consultation
MERIT works in partnership with the Business Office and the Office of External Relations to manage the School of Education Digital Signage network.  MERIT can consult with you on your Digital Signage needs and offer recommendations to best meet those needs.

Computer Lab Support

The instructional computer labs in MERIT Library are supported by MERIT staff.  The labs are intended to provide instructional support for technology and computer based courses in the School of Education.  Both Mac and PC hardware and software are supported in these classrooms.
